2025年12月4日、SMBCグループは、グループ会社であるSMBC Aviation CapitalおよびダブリンのTrinity College Dublinと連携し、持続可能な航空燃料（SAF）をテーマとするディスカッションイベントを開催しました。
当日は、航空業界のバリューチェーンに関わる企業・機関の関係者が参加し、航空分野の脱炭素化に向けた重要な課題の一つであるSAFの普及拡大について議論を行いました。
SAFは、航空分野における短期的な脱炭素化を進めるうえで有効な手段の一つとされ、CO2排出量を60〜80％削減できる可能性がある一方、資金面での課題が普及の大きな障壁となっています。
本イベントでは多様な立場の参加者が集い、普及に向けた金融上の課題や技術面の論点、政策面で必要な働きかけについて意見を交わし、航空分野の脱炭素化を前進させるための具体的な方向性を確認する機会となりました。

On 4 December 2025, SMBC Group brought together leaders from across the aviation value chain to discuss one of the industry’s biggest challenges: how to accelerate the deployment of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
As one of the most potentially impactful solutions for decarbonization in the short-term, SAF could cut emissions by 60-80%, yet financing remains a major hurdle.
We brought together fuel producers, financial institutions, government representatives, and researchers to explore the financial barriers, technical challenges and advocacy needed to catalyze deployment.
The roundtable highlighted actionable steps we can take together to move the dial on decarbonizing aviation.
