Expansion of the support system

SMBC has implemented a system that extends the retirement age to 65, enabling employees to pursue a variety of challenges throughout their lifetime.

Voluntary application system We actively implement our voluntary application system to support employees in pursuing the work challenges they desire.
Support system for second careers To support employees who choose to take on challenges through voluntary work at other companies, we offer a second career support payment, which includes a bonus severance package.
Dual-career Support system We have introduced a flexible system that allows employees over the age of 60 to work a three-day work week, promoting a better balance between personal life and side jobs.

Career support program

For employees who have reached the designated age, we provide a program at each Group companies that explains the system post-compulsory retirement and offers guidance on mindset adjustment. In addition to messages from top management expressing their expectations, we also offer a program that encourages employees to envision their future and explore new ways of working.
